FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

In what formats are the courses available?

Courses are available in a mail format (hardcopy mailed to you) and an e-mail format (a protected Microsoft Word document attachment sent to your e-mail address).

How soon will I get the course after I order it?

The mail format courses are shipped within 1 to 2 business days after the order is received and typically arrive within 3-5 business days.  Courses are shipped via USPS First Class. 

E-mail courses are e-mailed within 1 business day after the order is received.

Is next day delivery available for hard copy mail format?

Next day delivery is not available for hard copy mail format.  We recommend the e-mail format option if rapid service is required.

Why are courses “approved” for some states and not others?

Each state has its own requirements for course approval.  While some state associations or boards require approval for CEU certification, others do not.  Additionally, some states have a reciprocal approval.  When it is indicated that a course is “approved” for a certain state, it means that PT On-Line Courses applied for and received approval for that course in that state.  If a state allows reciprocity (automatic approval is given if the course is approved by another state’s association or board), then this will be indicated.

The requirements of state boards and associations regarding continuing education for relicensure are constantly changing.  It remains the responsibility of each individual PT and PTA to remain up-to date on guidelines for your state.  We recommend you visit The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy website and follow the links to your state. www.fsbpt.org/licensing/index.asp

If my state is not listed as “approved” for the course, can I get the documentation I need to seek credit for this course on my own?

Check with your state association or board for requirements at www.fsbpt.org/licensing/index.asp Typically, you will need a combination of the author’s biography and curriculum vitae, along with the course description, learning objectives, and your CEU certificate to seek approval for contact hours.

What if I have a different understanding about my state’s continuing education approval requirement as compared to what PT On-Line Courses indicates?

Please contact us at info@ptonlinecourses.com with your concerns and we will investigate.  It is our intent to be as up to date as possible with continuing education approval requirements for each state.

Does PT On-Line Courses provide my state board or association with my continuing education records?

No, it remains the responsibility of each therapist to maintain his/her own records of completed coursework.

May I take the course if I am not in one of the states where the course is approved?

Our courses are available to all therapists.  Many of our customers are from states where we do not offer courses. If yours is not one of our approved states, you may seek approval on your own.  We are happy to help get you any additional information you might need.  Contact us at info@ptonlinecourses.com

Can two people share a course?

At this time, we do not offer a shared course program.

How do I know if you received my order?

Once your order is recieved, we will send an order confirmation by e-mail. If you ordered the course in e-mail format, the course content and post-test will be included as an attachment. If you ordered the course in mail format, the order confirmation will include a shipping date.

I am having trouble reading my e-mailed course and post test – how can I change the view?

E-mail attachments are sent in a protected Microsoft Word format. Open the e-mail attachment.  Go to “View” then click on “Web Layout” or "Print Layout".  This will allow you to view the file easier.  You can also fill out the course completion forms using this view.

How much time to I have to complete the course for CEU certification?

You will typically have one year from the date of purchase to complete the course in order to qualify for CEU credits.  PT On-Line Courses applies for annual re-approval of courses from state associations or boards approximately 6 weeks in advance of expiration.  If a course will not be re-approved, we will contact you with a new deadline for course completion so that you will have the opportunity to qualify for your credits.

Do I have to sign the verification form?

The verification form is provided along with the course post-test and the course evaluation.  A signed verification form certifies that you were the person responsible for taking the course post-test.  The date after your signature indicates the date that you completed the post-test. This is the date that will be entered on your CEU certificate.  We recognize that submission of the form via e-mail or online will not allow a real signature.  In this case, type in your name and date of course completion.

How quickly do you grade exams and send certificates?

We grade post-tests within 2 business days of receipt.  If you have passed the course with a grade of 70% or better, and your full payment of the course has cleared, we will send your certificate to the location you have indicated on the verification form.  If you did not pass, we will contact you with your grade, a list of incorrectly answered questions and a new blank test.  You will then have an opportunity to resubmit the test for certification.  You will be able to re-take the test as many times as needed within one year from purchase unless otherwise indicated.

Should I mail my exam by certified mail in order to speed up the process?

Returning a post-test by certified mail can actually take more time.  Please do not use a certified mail option.

What date do you put on the certificate? 

The date on the certificate is the date the post-test was completed.  You will indicate this date on your verification form that will be returned with our post-test and course evaluation.

Can I get a duplicate certificate if I lose the original?

We will replace lost certificates at your request.  Please contact us at info@ptonlinecourses.com.

How may I report possible content errors in coursework or post tests?

We are happy to review our material for possible content errors.  Please fax, mail, or e-mail us with your concerns.

May I get a refund for a course?

Within 60 days of purchase, we will provide refunds for courses if payment has cleared. However, refunds will not be available for courses after CEU certificates have been issued.  Contact us at info@ptonlinecourses.com to request a qualifying refund.
